Dhaka Residential Model College

The Department of Chemistry of Dhaka Residential Model College started its journey in 1960 when it was a Residential Model School. Then, chemistry laboratory was established to purpose the practical classes of the students of science in the S.S.C. level. In 1967, college section was started in DRMC, then this department was extended its Curriculum up to H.S.C. level. The departmental laboratory is situated at ground floor of Academic Building one in the college campus.  In 1993, the departmental activities was extended to Day shift when it was started as second shift in the college. We have a chemical store-room for chemicals and apparatus for the laboratory.

In 2000, the Chemistry Laboratory was increased its facility as the practical desk for students are elaborated.

Department of chemistry, Dhaka Residential Model College provides quality education both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of chemistry.  The Department ensures students   prepared for today’s technology-driven society and the competitive examination of higher education. Now, we can show the practical class to the students by multimedia projector. We have a computer of high configuration for all purposes of the department.

In pandemic situation of “Covid-19”, the chemistry department prepared hand sanitizers by direct participated of our honourable principal Brigadier General Kazi  Shameem Forhad ndc, psc, sir. These hand sanitizers are supplied to our DRMC family as well as various institutions and hospitals. 

We have 14 qualified faculty members and a rich Laboratory.
